"Crafting Resilience: Women’s Cultural Revival in Post-Earthquake Reconstruction" Project

The project titled "Crafting Resilience: Women’s Cultural Revival in Post-Earthquake Reconstruction" funded by the British Council's Creative Collaborations Grant Program, led by the Hatay Earthquake Solidarity Association, and in partnership with Zey Works, Joon, and This is Mana is implemented between October 2023 and May 2024.

IstasyonTEDU supported the project team by designing the necessary methods and tools for the project team to effectively carry out social impact oriented project management processes. IstasyonTEDU aims to enhance the association's capacity in this field by collaborating with its members throughout the process.

The project initially focused on the interior and exterior designs of the Mara Handicrafts Workshop established in Hatay, Samandağ. Facilitated by Roof Coliving, co-design workshops were held with women's communities, producers, artisans, and local residents. Next, the necessary machinery and equipment for women working in textiles at the Mara Handicrafts Workshop were procured, and capacity-building training sessions for the workshop's women producers began.

The hands-on training provided by Zey Works, Joon, and This is Mana covered topics such as product development, creative thinking, branding, pricing, organization, and skill development, with 40 women, who were affected by the February 6 earthquakes, contributing to SDG 5 as well.
